A Quick Love Note To Actors
To my actors – I had to share this quick love note with you today.
^^^The quote in this photo above is a reminder I’m giving to myself today.
I’ve been getting caught up in so many unhelpful thoughts ranging from thinking I would’ve been further along by now, to questioning my abilities, to doubting myself and letting this dictate my own feelings about my potential today.
And as I pause I try to separate the facts from my feelings.
The facts are:
✨ I’ve done so many things younger me only dreamed she could do.
✨ I’ve constantly faced uncomfortability. Sometimes with tears and other times with a smile.
✨ I’ve managed to find my way to action, no matter how much resistance I had to fight through.
✨I’ve hit publish on words I was scared to share.
✨ I’ve gotten on stage with visible sweat stains.
✨ I’ve had to validate myself when there was no external validation in sight.
✨ I raised my trembling hand to present something in front of writers I greatly admired.
✨ I kept putting one foot in front of the other no matter how many times my thoughts echoed “You’re not ready, you’re not ready.”
And none of this wouldn’t have been possible if I didn’t choose to start. And then continued to say yes over and over again.
✨And same with you✨
You’re probably nowhere close to where you want to be yet.
It’s probably taking you longer than expected. (Maybe even way longer).
It’s probably looked nothing like you thought it would.
You may be getting zero external validation right now that you’re moving in the right direction.
Your current resume and bank account does not reflect your potential or self worth. And neither does your future resume or bank account.
And just as you were brave enough to start, be brave enough to keep going.
This is your journey and it’s being written exactly how it’s supposed to be.
And if you don’t feel like that’s the case, you’re the one holding the pen. You get to change what’s on the next page.
You started somewhere. You’re here now. You’re headed somewhere fantastic.
And it’s all because you were brave enough to start.
